A woman found injured and bleeding in a parking lot in New London last month has died of a head injury.The New London Police Department identified the victim on Monday as 46-year-old Lindsay Melher of Groton.Melher was found on June 21 shortly before 10:50 p.m. when emergency crews were called to a shopping plaza parking lot at 48 Ocean Ave. on a report of an injured female, according to police. She was bleeding and unresponsive, suffering from life-threatening injuries, and was rushed to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital.Police on Monday said Melher has died and that the circumstances surrounding her death are still being investigated.According to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, Melher died of a blunt impact injury to her head.
