Woman killed after striking fence, utility pole in single-car crash in Woodstock

A Connecticut woman was killed in a single-car crash in Woodstock on Friday morning after hitting a fence and utility pole, state police said.
A Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on Roseland Park Road in Woodstock approximately 1/10 of a mile south of Arvidson Road around 10:14 a.m. on Friday when it veered off the roadway to the right, according to the Connecticut State Police.
State police said the Toyota hit a wooden fence and continued traveling north before striking a utility pole on the northbound shoulder. The vehicle then traveled down an embankment where it came to a final rest against a tree, according to state police.
The driver, identified as 35-year-old Elise Ortiz of Willimantic, was pronounced dead at the scene by Dr. Heather Dowling of Day Kimball Hospital, state police said.
