The co-author of Biden’s executive order on crypto Carole House has rejoined the White House as Special Advisor for Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Policy.
Carole House, a former director of cybersecurity and secure digital innovation for the White House who co-authored President Biden‘s 2022 executive order on crypto, is coming back to join the Biden Administration as the Special Advisor for Cybersecurity and Critical Infrastructure Policy.
In a LinkedIn announcement on Jun. 24, House said she will be working at the White House National Security Council focusing on an “absolutely critical mission” aimed at shaping the “future of secure and trustworthy digital economies.”

President Biden issued an executive order on crypto in March 2022, a move aimed at establishing a coordinated and comprehensive approach to crypto policy across the federal government. The order aimed to address the “risks and harness the potential benefits of digital assets and their underlying technology,” the White House said in a March press release.
The executive order called for exploring a U.S. central bank digital currency (CBDC) and mitigating the illicit finance as well as “national security risks posed by the illicit use of digital assets.” House, who co-authored the order, described it in an interview as a “balanced” approach to overseeing the crypto industry, while acknowledging that there are still “gaps” that need to be addressed.
