Crash involving pedestrian closes Route 72 in Bristol

A crash involving a pedestrian closed part of Route 72 in Bristol during the early morning hours on Monday.The crash was reported shortly before 4:45 a.m. in the area of Route 229, according to the state Department of Transportation.DOT officials said the crash was reported as a vehicle versus pedestrian crash.It was not immediately clear if any injuries were reported.The DOT did not have an estimate as to when Route 72 would reopen.Check back for updates.
