A Connecticut man was arrested on federal child pornography charges after an investigation that included both city police and the FBI’s Crimes Against Children/ Human Trafficking Task Force, according to police.
Marvyn Escobar, 26, of Woodland Street, Hartford, is charged with transfer of obscene material to a minor and receipt of child pornography, police said.
Police said the Hartford Police Special Investigations Division began an investigation, in collaboration with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Crimes Against Children/ Human Trafficking Task Force in 2023, into Escobar for alleged child pornography offenses.
“During the course of the investigation, probable cause was developed to charge Escobar with the listed federal criminal violations,” police said. An arrest warrant was approved by a federal judge and on June 25, special investigations detectives and task force agents took Escobar into custody without incident, police said. Escobar was processed, charged, and is being held in federal custody, police said.
