A man was seriously injured when the scooter he was driving crashed in Plainfield on Sunday evening.Officers responded to Norwich Road just after 5:15 p.m. on the report of an accident and discovered a scooter on the side of the road that had been involved in a single-vehicle crash, according to the Plainfield Police Department.Police said the victim, a 32-year-old Plainfield man, was headed north when the scooter he was operating left the road and struck a curb, sending the scooter airborne before it landed in the breakdown lane.The man was taken to an area hospital with suspected serious injuries, according to police.The crash remains under investigation.Anyone with information has been asked to call the Plainfield Police Department at 860-564-0804.
