Troopers responded to 157 crashes and 26 people were charged with DUI over the 4th of July holiday, the Connecticut State Police said in a report on Friday.The stats are reflective of the period beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday through 8 a.m. on Friday, according to state police.Of the 157 reported motor vehicle crashes, one resulted in serious injuries in Burlington and one was fatal after a motorcyclist, identified as 43-year-old Abraham Martinez of Naugatuck, was hit by a motor vehicle on Route 25 in Trumbull at 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday, state police said.In total, there were 2,953 calls for service and 130 motor vehicle assists, according to state police.State police also issued 129 speeding tickets and 259 violations which included unsafe lane changes, following too closely, distracted driving and seatbelt infractions.
