A juvenile is accused of calling 911 and falsely reporting that a male subject had a gun at an elementary school in West Haven on Wednesday.
Detectives immediately began an investigation after Savin Rock Community School at 50 Park St. in West Haven was immediately cleared of any threat, according to the West Haven Police Department.
Police said detectives quickly obtained information on a possible suspect. A school resource officer interviewed the juvenile along with their parents, and they allegedly admitted to making a phone call to police about someone with a gun being on the property, according to police.
The juvenile was charged with first-degree falsely reporting an incident and second-degree breach of peace and will appear in court in New Haven in the near future, according to police.

“The West Haven Police Department is committed to providing a safe learning environment for our students and educators. Anyone who intends on disrupting that shall be held accountable for their actions,” West Haven Sergeant Scott Allard said in a release on Thursday.
