Legendary Eagles Scheduled for Concert Series at Las Vegas Sphere

A year ago, we teased the tantalizing possibility, and now it’s official. The legendary Eagles are scheduled to take the revered stage at the Sphere in Las Vegas, adding to the venue’s illustrious list of performers. The current line-up for the Eagles – Timothy B. Schmit, Vince Gill, Don Henley, Deacon Frey, and Joe Walsh – were revealed in Thursday’s announcement of eight spectacular shows scheduled between September 20 and October 19.

This iconic Southern California rock band reunion unfolds in one of the world’s most expensive concert halls – the $2 billion Sphere. The series of concerts, familiarly dubbed the Eagles’ “Long Goodbye,” began on a bittersweet note, seven years after the poignant demise of co-founder Glenn Frey.

The Eagles are the fourth musical act to reverberate their notes within the Sphere, trailing in the sonic wake of the transcendent U2, who inaugurated concerts in this spherical venue last year, followed by the riveting performances of Phish, and Dead & Company. This preceding 30-show residency by Dead & Company reaches its twilight in August.

Under the sagacious management of Irving Azoff, a trusted Sphere consultant, the Eagles are set to unfurl more shows subject to audience demand.

Starting with a reasonable price tag of $175, tickets for the initial shows – slated for September 20-21, September 27-28, October 11-12, and October 18-19 – will be released for sale on June 21, available exclusively at eagles.com. Keen fans can also register for the band’s presale, scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Eastern Time on June 18. Additionally, Live Nation presale commences at 1 p.m. Eastern Time on June 20. A handful of VIP packages will also go on sale at the same time on June 18, available on the band’s website.

The electrifying news doesn’t end here. Tom Jones, the celebrated former Welsh pop icon who recently turned 84, is planning to reestablish his presence on the Strip by performing two showcases at the Wynn’s Encore Theater on September 28-29. Jones has a rich history with Las Vegas, making his premiere Strip performance at the Flamingo back in 1967.

During the 70s, Jones found a second home at the International (now known as today’s Westgate) where he was fortunate to forge a bond with Elvis Presley. The 80s saw Jones frequently perform at the MGM Grand in the theater that was subsequently renamed for David Copperfield. Followed by his most recent appearance at the Wynn in October 2022, Jones had taken a 12-year sabbatical from the Strip.

Information about tickets for Jones’ shows will be revealed in the forthcoming week, along with the formal announcement.
