A popular location of Hooters restaurant in Connecticut is closing for good, a revelation that comes amid news others across the nation also will shutter.“After nearly two decades of hot wings, cold beer, and great memories Hooters of Manchester has made the difficult decision to close its doors,” the business posted on Facebook.The business also has a “closed permanently” listed on it in a Google search of the location. The Wethersfield Hooters did not have a “closed” marking on it, and the Manchester post encouraged diners to head there for wings and more.“Thank you for the many years of patronage and loyalty. We encourage you to visit your favorite Hooters Girl at Hooters of Wethersfield or Hooters of West Springfield,” the Manchester site posted on Facebook..Further, “At least 44 ‘underperforming’ Hooters restaurants have been permanently closed in 14 states across the nation in response to ‘pressure from current market conditions,’” the chain told USA TODAY, the news site reported.“Like many restaurants under pressure from current market conditions, Hooters has made the difficult decision to close a select number of underperforming stores,” Hooters said in a statement to Quartz. “Ensuring the well-being of our staff is our priority in these rare instances.”In reference to the Manchester site, customers immediately reacted on Facebook to news of its closing, though not all of it lamenting its loss.“Loved this place and the staff… Sad to see it go!,” one wrote.“NOOOOOOOOO.
