LSU sophomore cornerback Javien Toviano, 19, surrendered to authorities on Sunday in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, following charges of video voyeurism, according to the East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s office. Toviano, originally from Arlington, Texas, stands accused of recording himself engaging in sexual activity with a woman without her consent, as detailed in an arrest warrant.

The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, informed detectives she discovered videos of their intimate moments on Toviano’s iPad. These videos were reportedly captured through a clock with an integrated camera, discreetly placed near the bed, which she had not consented to. She further revealed that Toviano had previously recorded their encounters without her permission and had expressed her unwillingness to be recorded.

During questioning, Toviano admitted to detectives that he had used a hidden camera to record the interactions, as stated in the arrest warrant.

Details on Toviano’s bond were not immediately available, and it is unclear if he has legal representation to comment on his behalf. In response to the charges, LSU announced Toviano’s suspension from all team activities, pending the outcome of the legal process.

Toviano, who joined LSU last year, played in every game as a freshman and started in three of the last five games. He concluded his freshman season with 33 tackles and one pass breakup. With preseason practice slated to begin on August 1, Toviano was anticipated to compete for playing time at cornerback. LSU stated that they will refrain from further comment to respect the ongoing legal proceedings.
