Pedestrian struck by vehicle during road construction in Rocky Hill

A pedestrian was injured after being struck by a vehicle involved in roadway construction in Rocky Hill on Thursday morning.Emergency crews received a report of a motor vehicle versus pedestrian collision on Winter Lane just before 11:30 a.m. and responded to the area, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Foss-Rugan of the Rocky Hill Police Department.Foss-Rugan said officers, members of the Rocky Hill Fire Department and medics responded to the scene and located a pedestrian suffering from injuries not considered life-threatening. The victim was taken in an ambulance to an area hospital and has been listed in stable condition.According to Foss-Rugan, investigators found that the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that was involved in roadway construction.The operator of the vehicle was not injured. The driver remained at the scene and has been cooperative with police, Foss-Rugan said.Foss-Rugan said police are withholding the names of those involved in the crash, as well as the name of the construction company.The Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Team responded and has assumed the investigation, which is ongoing.Anyone with information has been asked to contact Officer Peter Vanturas at 860-258-2049.
