Pedestrian struck, seriously injured on I-91 on-ramp in Wallingford

A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured on an Interstate 91 on-ramp in Wallingford on Friday.
Troopers received reports of a car versus pedestrian crash just after 9:15 a.m. and responded to the Exit 13 on-ramp of I-91nSouth, according to Connecticut State Police.
The Exit 13 on- and off-ramps in both directions were closed following the crash and remained shut down as of the late morning hours, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
State police asked motorists to avoid the area and use alternate routes, as the shutdown caused delays.
