Police investigating two late-night shootings in New Haven; both victims adult men

Two overnight shootings involving victims with multiple gunshot wounds are under investigation in New Haven, police said.Around 12:42 p.m. on Sunday, officers were dispatched to a residence on Quinnipiac Avenue for a report of a person shot, according to the New Haven Police Department.Several minutes later, a walk-in shooting victim arrived at Yale New Haven Hospital. According to police, the victim had been transported to the hospital by a private vehicle.The victim, a 47-year-old New Haven resident, sustained several non-life-threatening gunshot wounds, police said.Detective responded to the area of the shooting to conduct an investigation after patrol officers located ballistics on Quinnipiac Avenue, according to police.At 3 a.m. on Sunday, officers were dispatched to the Saint Raphael Campus of Yale New Haven Hospital for the report of another walk-in gunshot victim, police said.The victim, a 34-year-old New Haven man, also sustained multiple gunshot wounds, according to police. Due to his injuries, he was transported to the main Yale New Haven Hospital campus, police said.According to police, his injuries were non-life-threatening.Officers conducted a canvas of the area of the shooting and reportedly found ballistic evidence in the area of Willow Street and Mitchell Drive, police said.
