WhatsApp aims to give users a greater control over their channel interactions. The chat company is said to be working on an update that will allow users to pin multiple Channels in the app.
According to WabetaInfo, WhatsApp in its beta update for Android 2.24.13.3, has brought a feature allowing users to pin channels. Currently, this feature is being tested in the beta program available only for those who have signed up as beta testers. The new channel pinning option allows beta testers to pin up to two channels at the top of their channels list.
How to pin a channel
To pin a channel, users need to select the desired channel and then use the pin action within the top app bar. Once pinned, the selected channels remain fixed at the top of the list, ensuring convenient access each time users open the updates tab. Users also have the flexibility to perform bulk actions, such as muting or marking channels as read, by selecting multiple channels simultaneously.
Earlier, users often faced challenges locating frequently accessed channels within their list, particularly if they followed numerous channels. This process could be time-consuming and cumbersome. However, with the ability to pin favourite channels to the top of the list, users can now streamline their navigation experience and access content more efficiently.
The feature to pin up to two channels is currently available to select beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta update from the Google Play Store. It is expected to roll out to more users in the coming days. Currently, there is no option to pin favourite channels at the top of the window in the stable version of the messaging platform.
