Teen arrested for allegedly breaking into CT marina, stealing tools, alcohol from boats

A Connecticut teen was arrested Tuesday for allegedly breaking into a marina in Norwalk in May and burglarizing docked boats, police said.On May 17, two males allegedly climbed the fence at Cove Marina in Norwalk to gain access to the docks. According to the Norwalk Police Department, the males then allegedly broke into two docked boats and took tools and alcohol.Officers were able to gather video and information which led them to discover that the Fairfield Police Department had a similar burglary at one of their marinas, police said.The suspect in the Fairfield incident was identified as 19-year-old Christopher McClain of Redding, according to police. Through surveillance, Norwalk officers were able to positively identify McClain as a suspect in the marina burglary and the vehicle he allegedly used in the crime, police said.An arrest warrant was obtained, and McClain was taken into custody at his home on Tuesday without incident.McClain was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal trespass and fifth-degree larceny. He was being held on a $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in Stamford on June 25.
