Two pets were missing after a fire in Plainfield tore through a family’s home on Sunday, leaving five people displaced.Firefighters responded to a home at 10 Cottage St. around 6:30 a.m. Sunday on a report of a fire and found heavy flames at the one-and-a-half story home, according to the Plainfield and Moosup Fire Departments.A family of five was able to make it out of the home safely.No injuries were reported.The blaze caused extensive damage to the home, leaving it uninhabitable. Once it was put out, two family pets were not immediately able to be located.The residents, which include three children, are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross.The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
